Reviewer Finder
Review Finder
Finding suitable reviewers for incoming proposals takes time. As the number of publications and grants continues to increase and research becomes more collaborative and interdisciplinary, identifying reviewers is a more challenging task than ever.
SciVal®'s Reviewer Finder helps you identify reviewers in minutes – not hours. Find the right reviewers, identify potential conflicts of interest and expand your reviewer network by inviting researchers to review applications that are relevant to them.
Reviewer Finder enables you to:
- Select the right reviewers by identifying precise matches between incoming proposals and potential reviewers
- Choose suitable reviewers by raising awareness about potential applicant/reviewer conflicts of interest
- Identify reviewers from approximately four million author profiles across disciplines based on the Scopus® database
- Simplify the review process by building and managing review committees
Powered by the Elsevier Fingerprint Engine Reviewer Finder produces visual semantic indexes, or Fingerprints, of over four million researchers in the Scopus® database, the world's largest abstract and citation database of peer-reviewed literature. Each Fingerprint reveals expertise ranked by the uniqueness and frequency of the terms that define each author’s publications.
By matching the Fingerprints of individual researchers against the Fingerprint of an incoming proposal, Reviewer Finder automatically suggests reviewers and identifies potential conflicts of interest. For example, is a potential reviewer a co-author to the researcher applying for funds? Has the potential reviewer worked at the same organization in the past as the applicant?
Reviewer Finder makes it easy to answer these imperative questions and identify the right reviewers.
Simplify the peer review process
Reviewer Finder instantly generates a Fingerprint of the grant application.
Reviewer Finder provides a list of potential reviewers with indicators of expertise and possible conflicts of interest.
Use Reviewer Finder to easily build and manage review committees.

Was Reviewer Finder originally developed by Collexis?
Yes, Reviewer Finder was originally developed by Collexis. Elsevier acquired Collexis in 2010 in order to expand the SciVal suite of performance, planning and funding solutions. By combining Elsevier’s content with Collexis’ semantic technology, Elsevier has been able to provide institutions and researchers with new ways to collaborate, showcase accomplishments and improve grant related workflow efficiencies. The acquisition of Collexis accelerates Elsevier’s ability to help researchers and decision-makers establish, execute, and evaluate research and funding strategies as well as improve their return on investment.
